ABOVE THE PURPLE LAYER Team Building Program

In this half-day program, teams create a gourmet lunch while learning the communication styles of their teammates.  Paired into groups of two, teams are required to fix each other's lunch using imaginative imagery, adjectives, and voice inflection as their only tools.  Groups learn to perform in a limited communication environment, the shortfalls of interpreting the spoken word, and how to use our emotional and perceptual inflections in addition to direct language to communicate effectively.

This is a powerful program that produces lasting results, rebuilds trust, and will give your group the tools it needs to understand different communication styles in the workplace.  Limited to 14 participants.

ON THE BLOCK Team Building Program

How much are you willing to bid on your daunting recipes?  The price is high, budgets are limited, and the competition is fierce.  A full scale auction for food items tests your negotiating ability for your team's ingredients and comes with a two hour time constraint to prepare, cook, present, and serve your team's final masterpiece.  How effectively do you negotiate for your team's needs?  How quickly and easily can you think on your feet, modify your plans under pressure, and accomplish your task?

This program is a real-life business scenario recreated in the kitchen.  Teams will learn how to think outside the box, how to communicate effectively, when to concede, and how to communicate and function together, healthily, under stress in this half-day program.  Limited to 14 participants.

WHAT'S A TOMATO? Team Building Program

This half-day program throws leaders into a task-based culinary environment in which each member of the team adopts a different physical disability or cultural limitation.  The communication and completion of a task with teams comprised of physical disabilities, visual impairments, and cultural or language barriers teaches empathy while creating a safe environment to experience frustration, stress, and hindered productivity.

This is an intensely honest workshop that analyzes our individual reactions to those with differences around us, allows individuals and groups to devise productive and healthy strategies for accommodating these differences, and disassembles our common stereotypes.  Groups will walk away with a first-hand appreciation for those who suffer with these barriers and, having spent one day in their shoes, will take back with them the tools to manage, nurture, and create an environment in which barriers can be transformed into springboards for positive action and outcomes.  This extremely intensive workshop is limited to 8 participants.
