THE ALLIANCE 4 SUSTAINABLE FOOD ADVOCATES is a networking group created by Emily Brooks to unite those who support local agriculture, sustainable farming, local food production, and sustainable food systems.  The development of local, living economies rests on our nation-wide collaboration as we change the social norm towards agricultural sustainability, farmer & producer support, and small business development.

Buy Local Connecticut!

Sweet Wind Farm is a featured farmer in Connecticut Farmer & Feast, a revolutionary new cookbook by Emily Brooks.

Sweet Wind Farm is located in East Hartland, CT on route 179. Visit their sugarhouse where they produce some of New England's best maple syrup and other maple products. Their seasonal farm stand offers their own fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, and more grown without the use of chemical sprays. Seasonal events include an annual Maple Festival on the 2nd Saturday of March. They also host Open House maple sugaring days on Saturdays in March, as well as classes and group tours, birthday parties and activities.  A directions and email link is listed below. We hope to see you here!

"Everything's sweeter at Sweet Wind Farm!"

Sweet Wind Farm Sugarhouse

Built in 2005, we began making maple syrup here in 2006. Previously, The Case family made syrup for over 30 years at "Arlow's Sugar Shack" in Granby, CT. Sweet Wind Farm's new sugarhouse has modern equipment to produce quality maple syrup and other maple products such as sugar candy, lollipops, jelly, and cream. We offer educational tours and classes to groups , or you may visit during their "Open House" times when they are boiling for a free visit. Maple syrup is sold in all size containers from 3 oz. jugs to gallons, and they sell wholesale to those who buy in quantity. Maple products are sold year  'round at our farm. Visit us during our Maple Festival held annually on the second Saturday in March.

 Sweet Wind Farm Farm Stand

We operate a seasonal farm stand from July through November, offering our own fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs and more. From tomatoes to squash, cucumbers to pumpkins, and lots more, we grow without chemical sprays and believe that homegrown tastes best! Call ahead for fresh picked flowers, or you may pick your own.

Pick-Your-Own

Beginning in July, Sweet Wind Farm will offer pick-your-own crops on Saturdays from 10 am till 4 pm. PYO crops will include blueberries, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans, peppers, flowers and more. If you cannot come on a Saturday, you are welcome to call ahead and make an appointment.  Their PYO will offer the best selection and variety to you, as well as give you the incredible freshness of farm to table.
